Sources and study details

* Goldstein et al., NEJM (1998). Randomized flexible-dose trial, 329 men with erection difficulties; oral sildenafil doses up to 100 mg. The percentage counts attempts, not men. Brock et al., Journal of Urology (2002). Five randomized trials, 1,112 men with erection difficulties across dose groups; 81% is a patient-reported result for 20 mg oral tadalafil. Different studies and endpoints; not a comparison between ingredients or proof of the combination’s results. Study doses are not instructions for use. Results vary. Comparison for the 69% of attempts result: 69% of intercourse attempts were successful with sildenafil, versus 22% with placebo, in the last four weeks of a 12-week study. Comparison for the 81% of men result: Men taking tadalafil 20 mg as needed reported improved erections after 12 weeks. Placebo: 35%. Separate studies of oral sildenafil and tadalafil measured successful sex and better erections.

Help Center

Find answers to common questions about treatments, results, prescriptions and what to expect. Still have questions?

How does LIV work?

You fill out a short health form online. A licensed provider reviews it and decides if treatment is right for you. If it is, your prescription ships to your door. You answer a few questions before each refill, and you check in every three months. You never have to visit a clinic.

Do I need to see a doctor in person?

No. There is no appointment to book. You answer questions online whenever it suits you. A licensed provider reviews your answers and decides if treatment is right for you. The whole thing takes about five to seven minutes.

How long does it take to get my prescription?

A licensed provider reviews your intake within 48 hours. Once approved and in stock before 1 PM Eastern, the pharmacy ships that day. After approval, delivery usually takes 3 to 5 days. Compounding can add time.

When will my provider review my plan?

Before each refill, tell us how you're doing. Your provider reviews your progress and adjusts your plan as needed. You'll also have a check-in every three months.

Who decides whether this is right for me?

A licensed provider reviews your health form and decides whether treatment is right for you. They choose your dose and how much medicine to prescribe.

What should I know about this compounded formula?

Compounded means a licensed pharmacy mixes the medicine for one person. It is not made in large batches. The FDA does not approve compounded medicines for safety, quality or how they are made. Studies of the individual ingredients do not tell us whether the combination works better.

Can I change, skip or cancel my plan?

Yes. You can change your plan, skip a shipment or cancel from your account. If you want to change your treatment or dose, discuss it with your provider.

Which medicines does my provider need to know about?

All of them. Four groups matter most here. Nitrates and nitrites in any form, because PDE5 inhibitors are not safe with them. Guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat. Alpha-blockers, because both classes lower blood pressure and the effect can add up. And nausea drugs in the 5HT3 group, such as ondansetron, which are not safe with apomorphine. Write down every medicine you take.

What side effects should I watch for?

Get medical help right away for an erection lasting more than four hours. Stop taking Matador 3-in-1 and get medical help right away for sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes, or a sudden decrease or loss of hearing.

Why is apomorphine in a sexual health formulation?

In the US, apomorphine is approved for Parkinson's disease, not erectile dysfunction. In Europe, the under-the-tongue product Uprima was approved for erectile dysfunction from 2001 to 2006, when its maker let the approval lapse for commercial reasons. Ask your provider why they recommend apomorphine in your combination and what evidence supports that choice.
