* Jastreboff et al., NEJM (2022), SURMOUNT-1: 2,539 adults with obesity, or overweight and a weight-related complication, without diabetes. Both figures describe the 15 mg once-weekly injection group at 72 weeks, including dose escalation, with lifestyle support. Average weight reduction was 20.9%; 91% lost at least 5% of their starting weight. These are treatment-regimen estimates regardless of discontinuation. Placebo results were 3.1% average loss and 35% reaching at least 5% loss. The 91% is a proportion of participants, not average weight loss. This trial tested injections, not oral tirzepatide. It does not establish the absorption or weight-loss results of LIV’s oral preparation. Study doses are not instructions.

What should my provider know before I start?

Before considering oral tirzepatide, tell your provider about your personal and family thyroid history. Approved tirzepatide injections must not be used if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), or if you have MEN 2.
